about

This album from Truck Pitch is from 1996 and is the earliest known document of the work of David K Frampton who at this time was operating as a solo artist using the Truck Pitch monicker and before the outfit fleshed out to a 3 piece. It's a heavyweight noisy, electronic album influenced by from the time noise, electronica, grunge and industrial. At that time DKF was using an RY-30, Akai sampler and a Poly 6 keyboard.
It was a very primitive set up. Truck Pitch went on to play as a three piece including guitarist D Acott (Skein) and Mark Frampton, DKF's brother who continues to record with to this today. What you have here is a tape documenting DKF's work as a 21 year old creating a very personal vision of electronic music. Recently mastered from the old tapes to digital by T House (Sweet Williams) this is the earliest Truck Pitch music available.

Truck Pitch were part of the early noughts East London basement-electro party scene playing at legendary record shop Small Fish, The Strong Rooms, Wang and many more. Truck Pitch were taken under the wing of the Haywire DJ and live agency along with the likes of Andrew Weatherall and Radioactive Man. At that time Truck Pitch were a live sonic 3 piece featuring drum machines, guitars and keyboards creating a mesmerising drone of electro-wall of sound. This was captured on their debut album for Process Records "Canyon Story" which was released to rave reviews. Truck Pitch recorded their second album "Supplejack" in 2012 and are excited to record new material this year for an album earmarked for October by David K Frampton's Eyeless Records label.

Truck Pitch were integral to Process Records from 1997-2003 releasing the second EP “Gas Herd” for the label in 1997 and the LP “Canyon Story” in 2000. Process were from deepest South London creating electronic dreams with music by Al Waxman, Skein, Mare Nubium, Cutterblade, Disco Ducks and Spaceship God and garnered praise from quarters such as Andrew Wetherall, Radiohead and David Holmes who at the time were pivotal figures. Fast forward to now and David K Frampton (Truck Pitch, Cutterblade) presents Truck Pitch’s earliest recordings on his imprint Eyeless Records as a beautifully designed tape.
